Terms and Conditions

The rules for using NORTEZ as a visitor, account holder or business owner.

Last updated: 27 October 2026

1. Acceptance

NORTEZ ("NORTEZ", "we", "us") is a South African local discovery and business-directory platform available at nortez.co.za. Contact: business@nortez.co.za.

By using NORTEZ or creating an account you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, the Subscription Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

2. What NORTEZ does

NORTEZ helps people discover local businesses, products and services, and helps businesses show what they offer.

NORTEZ is not the seller or supplier of anything listed by businesses and is not a party to any agreement between a customer and a business. Prices, quality, availability, delivery and after-sales service are the responsibility of the business. NORTEZ charges no commission on sales between users.

3. Accounts

You can browse, call and WhatsApp businesses without an account. An account is needed to save items, send messages, create a business, claim a business and receive alerts.

Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you suspect unauthorised access.

Your personal account is private. One login can manage more than one public business profile, subject to your plan.

4. Directory entries and claims

NORTEZ may list businesses using publicly available information before the owner joins. These entries are marked as not yet on NORTEZ and may be incomplete or out of date. Please confirm important details directly with the business. A directory entry does not mean the business has registered with, joined or endorsed NORTEZ.

Anyone can ask us to correct, dispute or remove an entry using "Update details or request removal" on the profile. Each request is reviewed by a person; submitting a request does not by itself change, remove or transfer a profile.

Only the owner or an authorised representative may claim a business. Claims are reviewed by NORTEZ and may require proof. Approved claims transfer management of the profile to the claimant.

NORTEZ may correct, restrict, unpublish or remove an entry that is inaccurate, disputed or unlawful.

5. Business profiles and listings

If you publish a business profile or listing, you confirm you are authorised to do so and that the information is accurate, lawful and kept up to date.

The number of active listings and business profiles you can have depends on your plan, as described in the Subscription Terms.

Businesses that are inactive for a long period may be flagged or paused from Discover until the owner signs in again.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the text and photos you upload. You give NORTEZ a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize and share that content on the platform and in share previews, for as long as it is published.

Only upload content you own or have permission to use. NORTEZ's name, logo, software and design belong to NORTEZ.

7. Messages, requests and reviews

In-app messages must be used honestly and respectfully. Contact made through Call or WhatsApp happens outside NORTEZ.

Reviews are verified only: a customer can review a business only after a service request has been completed by both sides. Fake, paid or retaliatory reviews are not allowed.

8. Subscriptions

Plans and allowances are described in the Subscription Terms. Personal and business plans are separate.

9. Suspension and removal

NORTEZ may remove content, pause a business, or suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, puts users at risk, or where the law requires. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.

10. Availability

We work to keep NORTEZ available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change as the platform develops.

11. Liability

To the extent the law allows, NORTEZ is not responsible for the goods, services, conduct or statements of businesses or users, or for losses arising from dealings between them.

Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 25 of 2002, or other law that cannot be excluded.

12. Complaints and contact

Contact business@nortez.co.za for support, corrections, claims or complaints. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.

13. Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. We may update them as the app changes; the date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use NORTEZ after an update means you accept it.
